Celebrating International Take Your Dog to Work Day (TYDTWDay®)
Friday 23 June is International Take Your Dog to Work Day (TYDTWDay®) and ROYAL CANIN® Pacific will be celebrating this event for the second year in a row.
What is International Take Your Dog to Work Day(TYDTWDay®)?
Pet Sitters International (PSI), the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters, created TYDTWDay® in 1999.
The benefits of pets in the workplace
Allowing pets in the workplace helps to increase physical exercise, provides a sense of comfort, relieves stress, improves work-life balance, increases productivity and morale and allows pets to spend more time with their owners.
At ROYAL CANIN®, we’re proud to showcase our corporate leadership by supporting initiatives like International Take Your Dog to Work Day (TYDTWDay®), and help pave the way for others to enjoy pet-friendly workplaces.
Top five improvements seen in the workplace are as a result of implementing pet-friendly policies:
- Employee morale
- Reduced stress
- Work/life balance
- Greater loyalty (to the company)
- Reduced guilt among pet owners about leaving pets at home

Celebrating TYDTWDay® at ROYAL CANIN®
Several dogs will visit both our Melbourne, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand offices on TYDTWDay®. We’re encouraging our Associates to celebrate by sharing photos of their dogs and talking about the many benefits of having a pet-friendly workplace.
ROYAL CANIN® is excited to participate in this important day and firmly believes that a well-thought-out ‘pets in the office’ policy makes for happier Associates, better job performance and ultimately a better world for pets – which remains central to everything we do.
How you can get involved
Celebrate TYDTWDay® by talking to your friends, family and work colleagues about the benefits of pets in the workplace. If your workplace has a pet-friendly policy, we’d love to see your photos on social media with the hashtags #TakeYourDogToWork #RoyalCanin #PetsAtWork #PetFriendlyOffice #RoyalCaninLovesPets
